Air Quality
This presentation is a must for anyone with asthma or allergy problems,
as well as for anyone who is concerned with the quality of air inside their home.
Reducing Indoor Air Pollution -
Carbon monoxide, chemical residues, mold, and dust.
These are not subjects we often associate as being a problem
inside our home. We are so often concerned with outdoor air
pollution that we rarely think about indoor air contaminants.
People spend over 90% of their time indoors and may be exposed
to a variety of pollutants.
Through this presentation, you will learn -
- What the health effects of these contaminants are
- What types of pollutants could be lurking in your home
- Where these pollutants could be hiding
- What you can do to reduce them
- The benefits of proper ventilation
- What problems excessive moisture can cause
This presentation includes a take home assessment to help you find and correct problems
in your own home. The approximate time for this presentation is 45-60 minutes,
depending on audience. This is best for audiences 8th grade and older.
Below is a list of common indoor air pollutants.
- Lead
- Pet Dander
- Cleaning Chemicals
- Mold
- Dust Mites
- Dust
- Tobacco Smoke
- Carbon Monoxide
- Formaldehyde
