Communicable diseases are preventable through immunizations(shots)

We are actively working toward full protection for all adults and children in Benton and Franklin Counties by offering education and immunization services at the Health Department.

We also offer education to interested community groups such as businesses, schools, private physicians, and service organizations for more information E-Mail us. Children heading back to school need to have required immunizations completed soon. But parents may not be aware that adolescents and adults need periodic immunizations too.

Benton-Franklin Health Department offers low cost immunizations for those unable to afford immunizations at private physicians. No one is denied vaccinations due to the inability to pay. Please call Benton-Franklin District Health Department with your immunization questions. (509) 943-2614.

Additional Health Department Immunization Services

The Health Department keeps computer records on all children and adults immunized at our sites. The parents of children receive an immunization reminder card by mail before the next dose is needed.

The Health Department staff does an annual review of all school and Certified Daycare immunization records. Each child's immunization record is reviewed. All students who are not up-to date receive information on how to obtain the needed immunizations. This program insures that all of our children are protected from communicable diseases, and that the schools of Benton and Franklin Counties are in compliance with state law.
